2022b - Learning is as Sweet as Honey 3-5

Learning is as Sweet as Honey – Spend three hours learning about the intricacies of beekeeping, honey, pollination, and how you can make a difference! During this course you will have the chance to work with a working hive full of honeybees (from the safety of a beekeeping suit, of course!), learn about why honeybees are so important, and taste some local honey. You will see first hand how honeybees navigate their environment, how they help humans, and how (and why!) humans should help honeybees in return! Student are able to identify the relationship between the beekeeper, honeybees, and the plants the honeybees pollinate.

Students will also make (and take home) "beeswax candles" during this event!

Note:  This is a "place-based" course .  Students will need to be delivered to the address listed below. Parents are welcome to stay and participate during the lesson!
